Stern’s Ghostbusters pinball machine, based on the iconic 80s film, promises plenty of fun and action. The American Film Institute ranks Ghostbusters 28th in its “100 Years… 100 Laughs” list of all comedies. In 2015, the United States Library of Congress selected Ghostbusters as a “culturally, historically, and aesthetically significant” film. The film’s humor is perfectly translated into the pinball experience. Many different features capture the film’s key moments, making the game a pure experience. Ghostbusters is easy to play but hard to master and requires a lot of initiative. The game features two teardrop-shaped targets in the center of the playfield. Here, a high reward is tempting, but it also involves high risk. The gameplay is notably positive as it becomes apparent relatively quickly. All 5 GHOST lights begin to flash, clearly indicating where the target is located. Once hit, SLIMER appears, and it’s self-explanatory what to do next: hit SLIMER! Once he is taken out, three more lights flash to show how the game continues. The pinball machine has many ramps, two different Newton ball features, a control gate, and of course, the original movie music by Ray Parker Jr. Four multiballs and nine modes (including two wizard modes) complete the fun. The Pro, Premium, and Limited Edition models are each hand-drawn by Zombie Yeti. In addition to the Pro features, the Premium and Limited Edition models include:
