Fish Tales Pinball Machine
Fish Tales (1992), made by Williams, is one of the top 20 pinball machines of all time and has been built over 13,000 times. The reason for this is the high level of fun that the Fish Tales with its fastball run provides. Fish Tales pinball machine is one of the top 20 most-produced pinball machines of all time, selling more than 13,000 units.
Fish Tales is about catching the biggest fish and telling the most absurd stories about the alleged size of the fish (so the player is a true angler) somewhere in the wild waters of Alaska.
Anyone who thinks that the Fish Tales means a cosy round of fishing for a few steel balls and points is far from it. According to the ball race, the Fish Tales is about speed. You always have to play against time since the numerous timers usually run off after a few seconds and you have to hit the right targets quickly to land the biggest fish.
The special thing about the Fish Tales is the video animation and the mini-games on display. The player must shoot down jet skiers who scare away their fish. The shots are fired via the button on the fishing route, which also transports the balls to the playing surface. Those who are sure of their aim here and can hardly let a troublemaker escape can then secure an extra ball. The video mode is related to the horseshoe-shaped ramp in the middle of the field. If the player hits the ramp—whether left or right—he collects the jet skiers for the video mode. Starting from 5 drivers, it goes off, and then it says, Fire freely! If you hit the ball between the two ramps and transport it to the upper target, the perch on the housing of the Flipper starts to flounder.
When “Monster Fish” is illuminated, the player has the chance to catch the fish of his life! Now it’s time to hit the spinner, and that as fast as possible—the timer runs off and the monster is quickly off the hook again. Of course, the Fish Tales has a mulitball. The player locks the balls in the fishing route. As soon as he has locked three balls, the multiball starts, and the jackpot has to be landed.
