Stern’s pinball machine Ghostbusters, based on the 1980s film of the same name, promises lots of fun and action.
The American Film Institute ranked Ghostbusters 28th in its “100 Years… 100 Laughs” ranking of all comedies. In 2015, the United States Library of Congress named Ghostbusters a “culturally, historically, and aesthetically significant” film. The film’s humor is perfectly translated into the pinball machine.
Many different functions achieve exactly the punchlines from the film and make the game a pure experience. Ghostbusters is easy to play, difficult to master and requires a lot of initiative. The game has two teardrop-shaped targets in the middle of the playing field. The promise of high winnings is tempting, but you also have to take high risks. The gameplay is particularly positive, as it is relatively easy to understand. All five Ghost lights start to flash and clearly show where the target is. As soon as it is hit, the Slimer appears and it is self-explanatory what to do next: hit the Slimer! If it is incapacitated, three more lights flash and show how the game continues. The pinball machine has many ramps, two different Newton Ball features, a control gate and of course the original film music by Ray Parker Jr. Four multiballs and nine modes (including two wizard modes) round off the fun. The Pro, Premium and Limited Edition models are each hand-drawn by Zombie Yeti. In addition to the Pro features, the Premium and Limited Edition models include the following:
